STEP是Sixth Term Examination Papers的简称，由Cambridge Assessment组织，共3卷，卷1、卷2、卷3难度依次增加。每年的6月中旬开始考试，全球统一出卷，统一考试，试卷统一寄回剑桥大学考试中心批改。

下列几所大学的数学专业鼓励申请人参加STEP考试，参加STEP考试可视作入学要求。

注意：

牛津大学数学专业采用MAT考试，但明确表示：尽管STEP考试不是牛津的入学条件之一，但学校鼓励申请人参加该考试。

这几年各大学对STEP成绩要求均有所提高，这主要表现在这两个方面：

1、STEP三张卷子中，原先有部分大学专业只需考一张STEP卷子，现在需要考2张STEP卷子

2、STEP成绩要求最低是2等级，部分大学专业直接要求提供2个1等级。
